Creative Digital Communication Arts Syllabus
Fall 2014 – Semester 1
High School Computer Lab
Prerequisite: No previous class is necessary. However, the signing of the school wide technology/media agreement is essential.
Course Overview:
During the course of the semester, students will be exposed to a variety of communication arts topics as well as being exposed to a variety of digital media. Some topics will just be touched on to prepare for future technology courses. Topics in creative digital communication arts include reading (two books), keeping a reading log, discussion boards, blog participation, chapter activities, and various research and group projects.

Grading Policy:
A - 90-100%
B - 80-89%
C - 70-79%
D - 60-69%
F - Below 60
Grades will be determined by daily typing assignments, assignment accountability, typing tournament participation, and various projects. All assignments will count toward the overall grade.
Late Work Policy:
If a student comes to class without homework from the previous day, they are subject to detention. The detention must be completed the day of no submission of homework or the following day. The student will be assigned additional detentions if homework still does not return to class. After three detentions, a zero will be given for the homework assignment. If the student has an excused absence, they are not subject to detention.

If you need help during the course of the year, please ask. The counselor has a tutoring service available to students.

- Responsibility and organization are the keys toward a successful school year.
- All students are expected to properly address their papers with name, date, period, and title of assignment.
- Communicate with me directly when you need help of any kind. I will be available for homework help. I am here for you!
